Three Hot Android Phones of 2012

The year 2012 is quickly wrapping up and we’re going to take the time out to look back at some of the best Android phones of the year. Just during the month of October alone there were many new Android smartphone selections unveiled. All die-hard Android users wish they had access to these latest phones, yet their contracts are the only thing holding them back. With hundreds of Android phones to choose from, we've cut the list down to nearly three. We’re going to present these smartphones in no-particular order based on sales, specifications, and user reviews. Here we go:

The Top Three Android Phones of 2012

Samsung Galaxy S III

If there happened to be any Android smartphone that outranked the charts in 2012, the Galaxy S III would definitely be that phone.  In the month of August, this phone purportedly beat out the iPhone on the sales charts.

Its large 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display happens to be utterly perfect under the resolution department. With an 8-megapixel camera and 4G/LTE connectivity, it’s the perfect rival to the iPhone. Currently all major U.S. carriers hold stock of the Galaxy S III for around $99.00 on-contract. The only issue is that the phone still runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich rather than 4.1 Jelly Bean.

LG Nexus 4

The LG Nexus 4 was released in late October and happens to run all the latest Android software discharged by Google. In-fact, Google has guaranteed Android updates will be made available first-hand to Nexus 4 users over-the-air.

A few reasons the Nexus 4 has remained successful during the first few weeks of launch is its jammed-packed internals. With a Snapdragon S4 processor, the Nexus 4 happens to be one of the fastest phones available today. Furthermore, you can’t forget the glossy 4.7” display and 8-megapixel camera offerings.

Samsung Galaxy Note II

When most consumers see the Galaxy Note II, their initial words are, “wow that’s a huge screen,” and they are right for the most part. Samsung went full-out with this smartphone – its display is 5.5-inches in size. When you consider a small tablet has a 7.0-inch display, it’s astonishing to realize the size differential.

I’ve tried the Galaxy Note II out on a few occasions and have found it as a larger version of the Galaxy S III smartphone (described above). The internal hardware is nearly spot-on with the S III, besides the larger battery.

Quite a few users have praised the Galaxy Note II because of the fast-paced updates supplied by Google. It runs the latest version of Android – 4.1 Jelly Bean, and Google seems to push out over-the-air updates to this device rather quickly.

Who Takes The Crown?

These are all phenomenal smartphones, but if a “best” had to be selected, than the Nexus 4 would suffice. The whole package is perfect, including display size, resolution, operating system, and so much more. If the Galaxy S III were to supply faster Android updates, than these two phones would've been closer matched.
