Here are the 3 most basic things you must know before you get started on your mobile apps development project:

How much does the development cost?
If you are developing a mobile app for the first time, you might get shocked with the prices. From $1000 of simple table based apps to $250,000 of high-tech game application with 3D animation, the cost may vary drastically based on a number of factors including the functionality, design, layout, coding and technology involved in the development process.

It is strongly recommended to work with a company local to you, or at least with a company who is well-established, experienced and interested to talk to you regarding the project on a daily basis. With this approach, you can talk directly with the designers and developers of your app and get it exactly the way you wanted.

Some businesses go on hiring freelance developers and designers to save some bucks from their hard earned cash. However, this may cause many problems later. For example, the freelance developer may finish the project, take the amount and disappear.

Rather, you need a developer who stay connected to you even after the app launches in the store. So, you may keep releasing the updates and new versions of your app, or if any bug found, you can contact them for immediate fixes. And don’t forget that apple charges $100 per annum for a developer’s account!

How much should your app cost the users?
$1.99 is considered a premium price; however you can make more than a buck per download. Remember, apple takes 30% of your app’s income as its commission, so you can set the price accordingly. Sometimes, the companies lower their apps’ prices to $0.99 to increase downloads; in many cases, the number of downloads has shown a rise but the overall revenues remain the same, meaning there is no benefit at the end. If your app features ads, or it is just for brand promotion, you may sell it for free! You will find a whole bunch of free apps on both apple and Google play store.

How will you get paid?
Google Play store takes up to 15 days after the end of the month to pay its developers or apps’ owners. And Apple takes up to 45 days after the end of the month. For example, if you launch your app in January, you will receive the payment by 15th February if it’s an Android application and by 15th march if it is an iPhone application. There are some other terms and policies regarding the payment in both the stores, which you can refer by visiting their respective sites.
