The Italian hacking group CPY announced on Saturday that it has finally cracked Assassin’s Creed Origins meaning people with pirated versions of the game will now be able to bypass its DRM protections. CPY has been the biggest game cracker which has cracked many of the biggest games titles over the last few years including Doom, Inside, and Resident Evil 7.

Until now, Ubisoft has been using three forms of copy protection – Uplay, Denuvo 4.8, and VMProtect. But it still wasn’t able to protect games like Total Warhammer 2, Shadow of War and FIFA 18 from getting cracked.

Right after the Assassin’s Creed Origins launch, Denuvo Anti-Tamper 5.0 protection came into play and it somehow manages to protect the Assassin’s Creed Origins for a much longer time from being cracked than the other games but CPY finally got it cracked.

However, It is worth mentioning that Denuvo’s piracy protection for the Assassin’s Creed Origins did its job well as Most new games get cracked within days or weeks of release, but Assassin’s Creed Origins managed to keep its various layers of protection intact this long.

Notably, Last month digital security company Irdeto purchased Denuvo Anti-Tamper 5.0 protection. Dragon Ball FighterZ, is the most recent game to use this version which was released January 26 and it hasn’t been cracked yet.

Now the game Assassin’s Creed Origins has been cracked it will be interesting to see how Ubisoft reacts on this or will it use some other protection service or will go with the same anti-tampering protection provided by Denuvo.
