I already reported in my previous post that Android Oreo 8.0 update is now started rolling out for the Xiaomi Mi Box 3 and it will be available via an OTA (over-the-air) update. But what if you haven’t yet received the OTA update on your device and want to download and install the Android Oreo 8.0 update on your Xiaomi Mi Box 3 manually?

Since the update is rolling out via OTA it might take longer than usual to arrive for your Mi Box 3 device. But if you just don’t want to wait for the update to arrive you can simply do it manually to get the latest Android Oreo 8.0 update on your Mi Box 3.
The first thing you can do is to check your device if it has received an OTA update or not, you can check it by going to your device’s Settings > and check for the Oreo OTA update.
If the device hasn’t received the OTA notification yet then you have the second option which is to download the update manually. To do it manually you can simply download the firmware file but before you do that make sure that your device is running on Android Nougat.
Now download the Android 8.0 Oreo firmware file with build number (OPR6. 170623.013.2167) by clicking the following download button to your device storage.
Now, you will need to reboot your device with recovery mode and choose the option ‘apply updates from storage or SD card’. Select the download firmware zip file and install it, that’s it.
Note: It is always better and more secure to download and installed an update when its available for your device via an OTA update, However, downloading and installing an update manually using a Firmware file might get your device on the risk of several unknown errors or data loss so please use this method with caution at your own risk.
