3DMark Port Royal Releases on January 8th with Real-Time Ray Tracing Benchmark

3DMark Port Royal, the world’s first dedicated real-time ray tracing benchmark for gamers will be launched on January 8th. UL benchmark officially announced the release date for its upgraded 3DMark Port Royal benchmarking software via its official blog post.

UL benchmark also releases a new trailer that shows the Port Royal demo scene from start to finish. UL also noted that users who already own 3DMark benchmark will be able to unlock Port Royal by purchasing the Port Royal upgrade for $2.99.

There is also an Advance Edition of the 3DMark Port Royal which includes the full version of regular 3DMark benchmarking software and the 3DMark Port Royal update.

How 3DMark Port Royal Works?

The 3DMark Port Royal benchmark uses Microsoft’s DirectX Raytracing to enhance reflections, shadows, and other effects that are difficult to achieve with traditional rendering techniques.

Games will now be able to test their PC to achieve the optimal performance for playing games which supports DirectX Raytracing, including recently launched Battlefield V, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Metro Exodus. The 3DMark Port Royal will allow gamers to test benchmark for games that which comes with up to 2560 × 1440 resolution.

UL benchmark further noted that 3DMark Port Royal has been developed working with some of the leading technology companies such as AMD, Intel, NVIDIA. The company also noted that UL benchmark has also worked with Microsoft to create a first-class implementation of the DirectX Raytracing API.
