There are plenty of reasons why someone would need to track down another individual: sometimes it is necessary for a manager to locate where his or her employees are in the field, while other times it may be a friend who is nearby but currently lost. In past years, finding someone meant consulting with them directly (often via home phone) and planning a rendezvous at a later time or date. These days, though, technology is assisting in making it possible to track or locate just about anyone – assuming you have consent. Below, we will be discussing four mobile applications that can help employee, parents, and drivers be aware of their surroundings and those closest to them.SEE ALSO:

Locate And Keep Track Of Family, Friends And Employees With These Apps

GPS Tracking Pro

The GPS Tracking Pro app simplifies the process of tracking family, friends and employees. Using over two dozen satellites to determine exact coordinates, GPS Tracking Pro is capable of finding any cell phone that is registered with your GPS Tracking Pro account. Each phone can be enabled via a simple text message, making it possible to track even older phones that do not have smartphone capabilities. This tracking solution works on any mobile network and delivers up-to-date information on each user’s current location. The app itself is free, and can be downloaded via the Android Marketplace.

Real-Time GPS Tracker

Designed to be a great way to share location data voluntarily, the Real-Time GPS Tracker app (free and available on Android Marketplace) lets you provide multiple pieces of information to friends and family. Not only can your current location be shared, but you will also have the opportunity to log a specific route and subsequently share that data, also. Some of the data shared along with location include the speed at which you are moving, your altitude and the battery level of the mobile device in question. You can even embed a map in a blog or website and share tracking data with the world.

Where Are You

Built to serve as a personal hub between two friends or family members, Where Are You allows for location data to be streamed discreetly to the person of your choice. Both people will need the Where Are You app in order for it to work, but a randomly-generated API key is all that is needed to activate a device and share its location. Not only will the app display the current location of a user, but will also show speed and direction to further clarify whether you are getting closer to your destination or not. The Where Are You app can be downloaded via the Android Marketplace and is a free download.

iPhone Tracker

This free app – available on iOS devices – allows anyone to track up to two other iPhone or iOS devices for up to 24 hours; an upgraded version allows for ten devices to be tracked for up to 72 hours. You’ll be able to find any phone once permission is granted, allowing you to track a child’s movement, a friend’s whereabouts or an employee’s daily route. If you lose your iOS device, a built-in option allows for easy tracking and location of the device.

In addition to the apps, there are a lot of personal GPS tracking devices that can help you locate and keep track of your family and friends.
