Nokia 2.1 Started Receiving Android 10 (Go Edition) Update in India and Other Countries

HMD Global today announced the rollout of the latest Android 10 (Go edition) update for the Nokia 2.1 in India and other countries. The phone was launched in May 2018 running on the Android Oreo 8.1 (Go edition) out-of-the-box. But, now almost two years after, the Nokia 2.1 has started receiving the most awaited Android 10 (Go edition) update.

However, to provide the latest update on every device smoothly, Nokia will be rolling out the Android 10 Go update for Nokia 2.1 in three waves. The first wave of the update which has started rolling today will be available first in the following countries including India.

Wave 1 includes:

  • Bangladesh
  • Cambodia
  • India
  • Laos
  • Malaysia
  • Myanmar
  • Nepal
  • Philippines
  • Sri Lanka
  • Thailand

According to the official Nokia community page, 10% of the Nokia 2.1 devices will receive the latest Android 10 Go update today. While the update will roll to 50% devices by Sep 5th and September 7th 100% users of the Nokia 2.1 will have the Android Go update on their devices.

Nokia 2.1 is a budget Android Go smartphone that features a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. It comes with 1GB of RAM. The Nokia 2.1 runs Android 8.1 (Go Edition) and is powered by a 4000mAh battery.

Nokia 2.1 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and also a 5-megapixel camera on the front for selfies. Currently, the Nokia 2.1 is available in India for Rs. 6,500.
