Sony is preparing to acquire From Software, another game developer that is struggling to survive. According to Dr. Serkan Toto, a leading game analyst, the Japanese studio could be a good fit for the PlayStation. In 1986, Dr. Toto worked at FromSoftware as a software developer, developing a pig-feeding management system.
He wrote a detailed report about FromSoftware’s history. In his report, Dr. Toto notes that the company began as a B2B software company, and went on to become a successful game developer.
1) One of my favorite studios, Tokyo-based FromSoftware, is currently rumored to be an M&A candidate for Sony.
Here is a quick run-down of its weird background feat. pigs, right-wing newspapers, Toyota and the metaverse.
And their early valuation… unspeakable.

While Sony has not been able to produce exclusive content for its consoles, Microsoft has made rapid studio acquisitions in the last few years. Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda left the company in a defensive position and made the PlayStation less desirable.
10) One month after the transcosmos deal, Kadokawa was clever enough to fully take over From.
At that time in 2014, one transcosmos director was Japanese mobile industry pioneer Takeshi Natsuno – who became Kadokawa president in 2021 and by rank oversees From today.

The Xbox Game Studios have yet to produce any exclusive content, so it may be a good time for Sony to make a big studio acquisition. Nonetheless, Sony has a long history of working with From Software. The company has more than half of its titles exclusively for PlayStation consoles.
Although the two companies have been linked in recent years, neither company has confirmed the rumors. From Software’s employees have complained about low pay and working conditions and are not happy with their current situation.
However, Sony’s ties to Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series, are strong, and a partnership with the developer would make sense for both companies. PlayStation’s love for developers and their creative work makes them an ideal fit.
