Do you constantly experience YouTube autoplay videos while scrolling through your feed? It can be frustrating because you’re using data on your phone or tablet and don’t want the ads popping up in the middle of your video. To stop YouTube from autoplay while scrolling, disable the Playback in feeds feature in the app’s settings. Here’s how:

How to Stop YouTube Autoplay While Scrolling

If you don’t want the video to autoplay while you scroll the screen, then you can simply disable the Playback in feeds option from the YouTube apps’ settings tab. Now, to find and disable the Playback in feeds option on the YouTube app follow the tesp given below.

  • Open the YouTube app on your phone
  • Click on your profile pic at the top right corner and go to Settings
  • Now, go to General and there you find the option (Playback in feeds)
  • Tap on the option and then you will see three options there Always on, Wi-Fi only and Off.

  • Now, you can choose any of the options accordingly
  • To disable the Playback in feeds option simply tap on the Off option and the setting will be changed.
  • Now, you should find the video to autoplay while you scroll the screen.
  • If you later want to enable this option, you can simply perform the same steps again and can select the Always on or Wi-Fi only option from there, that’s it.

This will prevent autoplay videos in your feed and save your internet data. Also, you can disable autoplay by selecting “Off” on the same settings menu. After disabling autoplay, you can view your favourites and other videos by scrolling through your feed again.

YouTube’s thumbnail preview feature allows you to preview the content of videos while scrolling. While this is a great feature, it’s also very annoying on mobile devices. YouTube also offers closed captions, so you’ll know what to expect when you’re watching a video.

This feature gives you the power to choose what you watch. However, make sure to use it sparingly. Otherwise, you could find yourself watching hundreds of videos without any real intention of finishing them.
