Know what you need.
There are people out there that are so obsessed with technology that they run out and buy every new tech gadget the minute it comes out. Most people don’t need to do this. Most of us don’t need to have an iPad, iPhone and iPod, and instead we can get away with just one.
If you want mobile access, but you don’t need constant access to the outside world, you can easily get away with owning one of the three, as each will provide you with the same bells and whistles as the others, just in different sizes. If you have an iPhone or iPod but you’d like to have the same functionality with a bigger screen, then you may want to invest in your iPhone or iPod along with an iPad.
If you already have an iPhone, iPod or iPad that works perfectly, there’s no reason for you to run out and buy the next model the minute it arrives. Yes, it may have a few extra perks that yours doesn’t have, but if it’s not vital to your life, it can wait. What you need to realize is that new models of all three of these technologies will come out all the time, so the minute you spend a fortune on the latest model, a newer model will already be in production. Nobody is going to be impressed that you own every single Apple device that came out—they’ll think you wasted a small fortune doing so.

Do your research.
If you’re in the market for an iPhone, iPad or iPod, it’s very important that you do your research before making a purchase. Each product comes in different styles with different features, so you want to make sure that you’re making the best purchase for you, and it’s possible that it won’t be the latest version. For example, if you want a smartphone but you don’t think you’d ever use Siri, you can get a great deal by purchasing the iPhone 4 instead of any of the newer models.
You can always go into an Apple store and ask a sales associate for advice. Most of them will be honest with you and tell you that yes, you do need a newer model or no, you can get away with an older one. If you’re not entirely sure about the differences between them all, don’t hesitate to ask. They can provide you with more details about the difference, and they may be able to do it in an easier to understand way.
If you want to keep up in the tech-savvy world, you can do so by simply having one smart device. Just remember that even though your friends may have all the tech gadgets on the market doesn’t mean that you do too. By having a device that you actually use, you’re keeping up with technology.
