HTC Vive Pro 2, HTC Vive Focus 3 VR Headsets Launched

Today HTC has launched its new HTC Vive Pro 2, HTC Vive Focus 3 VR headsets at the company’s ViveCon 2021 event. Both the new headsets come with a 5K resolution and a higher refresh rate. The new HTC Vive Pro 2 supports 90Hz and 120Hz refresh rate but the Vive Wireless Adapter is limited to 90Hz. On the other hand, the Vive Focus 3 VR supports 90Hz. The two VR headsets are now available for preorder from the company’s official website.

HTC Vive Pro 2 Specifications

If we talk about the specs, the new HTC Vive Pro 2 features two 2.5K RGB low persistence LCD screens with 2,448×2,448 pixels per eye for a total of 4,896×2,448 pixels resolution. The headset comes with up to 120-degree field-of-view (FoV) and has removable headphones with Hi-Res audio certification.

It also has dual microphones and Bluetooth for connectivity as well as a USB Type-C port, G-sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, IPD sensor, and SteamVR Tracking 2.0.

HTC Vive Focus 3 VR Specifications

The headset features a dual 2.88-inch LCD screen with the same 5K resolution as the Vive Pro 2. It also features dual microphones with echo cancellation, Hi-Res certified 3.5mm audio jack output and dual drivers with directional speaker design.

Vive Focus 3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 and includes two USB 3.2 Gen-1 Type-C peripheral ports, Bluetooth v5.2, and Wi-Fi 6 as its connectivity options.

The headset packs a 26.6Whr battery that is removable and swappable. The battery is said to last up to 15 hours and charge via a USB Type-C port.

HTC Vive Pro 2, HTC Vive Focus 3 Price and Availability

HTC Vive Pro 2 headset only comes with a priced tag of $799 (roughly Rs. 58,700), it will go on sale from June 4. Pre-orders for the Vive Pro 2 are live now. There is also a Vive Pro 2 kit that includes Base Station 2.0 and Vive Controllers priced at $1,399 (roughly Rs. 1 lakh).

HTC Vive Focus 3 is priced at $1,300 (roughly Rs. 95,500) and will be available for purchase from June 27. There is no information on when the two VR headsets will come to India.
