The HTC 8X is available in numerous colors and certainly looks attractive, but whether HTC has done enough to convince customers to choose its smartphone over competing devices remains to be seen.

3. Samsung Ativ S
Samsung has done exceptionally well with its Android devices, but the Ativ S is its first Windows Phone 8 device. Its Super AMOLED screen measures a huge 4.8 inches and looks fantastic, and customers can opt for either 16GB or 32GB of storage. It also has an excellent 8-megapixel camera along with a 1.9-megapixel camera on the front for making video calls. As well as being a powerful device, the sleek and stylish aluminum body also ensures that it is one of the best-looking smartphones currently available.

The above three devices are the top Windows Phone 8 handsets currently on the market. However, as good as they may be, Google and Apple are still well ahead of Microsoft in the smartphone market. Microsoft will be hoping that these three devices will help to convince customers to move away from Android and iOS handsets, but only time will tell whether Windows Phone 8 devices will prove to be big sellers.
