Earlier this week I have reported about the release and installing the MIUI 10 Based on Android Pie Beta on Xiaomi Mi8. Now Xiaomi has released Android Pie Based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 8.9.7 for Mi MIX 2S and its now available to download as well. The update is rolling out over-the-air (OTA), but if you don’t want to wait for the OTA to arrive you can also download and install the Beta ROM 8.9.7 on Mi MIX 2S manually.
Since this is a beta update for your Mi MIX 2S you might encounter few bugs after downloading the update. However, the final version will be rolling out soon.
How to Download and Install Android Pie Based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM v8.9.7 on Mi MIX 2S
You can download and install the update manually by downloading the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM v8.9.7 (Android 9 Pie) from below link and flash via stock recovery or TWRP. Please make sure you have the latest ROM installed to get the OTA update. Flashing back to Android Oreo may also cause system error so just avoid that.
You can also use Xiaomi updater tool to download and install the update.

2. Now, go to Settings > About phone > System Updates.
3. Tap on the option “Choose update package”.
4. Navigate to the zip file to flash it.
If above method does not work, you may try it via TWRP. Boot your phone into TWRP and flash the ROM by selecting the ‘Install’ menu.
MIUI 10 based on latest Android Pie update brings several new improvements to the battery and device performance.
