After a long wait, Apple has finally launched its portable HomePod wireless speaker in India. The new HomePod speaker will be available for Rs. 19,900 in India. The new Apple HomePod was long-awaited since 2017 and now its finally launched in the country. The new Apple HomePod is now also listed on the Apple India website. But there are no details on its availability yet.
However, we expect it to be available soon. Apple has also made available its new HomePod at a lower price in India which will cost users at Rs. 19,900. To recall, the Apple HomePod launched in the US at $349 (roughly Rs. 24,900) back in 2018.
Apple HomePod Features
The new Apple HomePod is powered by Apple’s A8 chip that is said to deliver advanced signal processing and better command Siri. The Apple HomePod features a custom-designed array of seven beamforming tweeters, each with its own amplifier. The speaker is 6.8-inch tall and at the top of the HomePod, you will also get a touch panel that enables gesture controls.
The Apple HomePod comes with a mesh fabric design that is available in White and Space Grey colour options. It also comes with AirPlay 2 support, so you can enjoy music in every room using multiple HomePod devices at your home.
There is a range of connectivity options available on the new Apple HomePod which includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac with MIMO and Bluetooth v5.0.
There is also Built-in power supply and support for audio formats such as HE-AAC, AAC, protected AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, AIFF, WAV, and FLAC. Besides, the speaker is 5.6-inch in width and weighs 2.5kg.
