Yakuza: Like a Dragon PS5 Release Date Announced, Free Upgrade from PS4 Confirmed

Instead of November 13th, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be released on November 10th. The reason for this is the release of the two Xbox consoles. In addition, the release date of the PS5 version was announced.

In July of this year it was announced that the action role-playing game Yakuza: Like a Dragon will also appear on the PS5. However, no release period or even a specific date of publication was mentioned but merely referred to a “later date”.

A month later it was announced that the game would be released on November 13th for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The release date for the Xbox Series X/S was also set from this day: the game should be available in time for the launch of the console.

For this reason, Sega has now announced that the release date will be brought forward by three days. Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be officially released on November 10, 2020, for PC and consoles.

As already mentioned above, only the PS5 players will have to wait a little longer. Sega announced that the title will hit the PS5 on March 2, 2021. The PS5 version will appear almost four months after the actual release.

All players who buy the PS4 version will also receive a free PS5 upgrade. Just like the current-gen versions, the game on the PS5 will cost you 59.99 euros.

In the latest title of the Yakuza series, there is a new main character for the first time since part one. This goes by the name “Ichiban Kasuga” and is described by the developers as more open and emotional.

The game is not a simple sequel, but rather a reinterpretation of the series. The new combat system, which is now turn-based, contributes to this. In addition, a new game world awaits you, which was modelled on a region of the Japanese city of Yokohama.
