Shochiku and Serafini Productions are bringing BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on August 18, 2025. This creepy first-person psychological horror game first launched on PC via Steam on April 24, 2025, and now console players can jump in.
In BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH, you play as Shinji, a young man living alone in a tiny Tokyo apartment. He’s a hikikomori, meaning he stays inside and avoids the outside world. With unpaid rent, piling bills, and a family that doesn’t get him, Shinji feels trapped and anxious. Video games are his only escape, but they can’t stop his growing fear.
As you explore his unraveling mind, you’re hunted by Hyakume, a scary entity with a hundred eyes that watches and waits to attack. Your PC is your only link to the outside, but it’s not safe either.
The game is part of the BrokenLore series, which tells standalone stories tied to a bigger mystery. It mixes personal struggles, like anxiety and isolation, with spooky folklore and mind-bending horror.
The story unfolds in a small 6m² apartment, with a vibe similar to Silent Hill 4: The Room. Players must uncover clues and face terrifying moments to learn the truth before it’s too late.
Fans are excited for the console release after the PC version got good reviews. The game’s creepy atmosphere and deep story have drawn attention, especially for horror fans who love digging into details. A release trailer dropped on August 4, 2025, showing off the game’s eerie visuals.
You can pre-order BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH on the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store. Check out the trailer below or visit Shochiku Games’ website for more info.
