THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have announced Darksiders 4, a new game coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam). There’s no release date yet, but a teaser trailer was shown at the THQ Nordic Showcase 2025.
What’s the Game About?
Darksiders 4 is a third-person action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world. The story continues from the first Darksiders game. You’ll play as one of the Four Horsemen—War, Death, Fury, or Strife. Each has unique weapons and fighting styles. The game features:
- Exciting Combat: Fast and intense battles with melee attacks, smooth movement, and special powers.
- Big Worlds to Explore: Travel through huge, destroyed landscapes filled with secrets, enemies, and giant bosses.
- Puzzles: Solve challenges to move forward in the game.
- Co-op Mode: Play alone or team up with up to three friends for 4-player co-op, as listed on the PlayStation Store and Steam.
The Darksiders series is loved for its mix of action, exploration, and deep story about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. This new game brings all four Horsemen together for the first time, which has fans thrilled. The game promises better graphics and gameplay, taking advantage of next-gen consoles and PC.
While the teaser trailer looks awesome, it’s short and doesn’t show gameplay. Fans are hoping for more details soon. Some worry the game might focus too much on co-op or become a live-service game, but the developers haven’t confirmed this. The release might be as late as 2027, based on what fans are saying online.
