Samsung Galaxy S8 “Anti-Dog” Labeled Batteries, What it Means for You

According to a new information surfaced online regarding the batteries of the newly launched Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus batteries which reportedly come with an “anti-dog”and oddly enough, this is not the first time when a South Korean company has used these labels on its batteries.

LG started putting this symbol on batteries in its smartphones from LG G2 onwards while Nexus devices also seem to come with batteries with these labels. So, what do these labels mean? Well, the company’s “anti-dog” label indicates that users should not leave the lithium-ion batteries lying around as they can be used as chew-toys by dogs and can cause swelling in the battery or even explosion in some cases.

Although the new smartphones from Samsung feature a non-removable battery, but somehow if it gets out of the device then it might create trouble for kids, as they can potentially chew the batteries and get themselves into trouble, chances of pets penetrating through the battery with their sharp teeth are higher. So, these are the reasons why Samsung has labeled its batteries with “anti-dog” label.

The whole point of this post was to create awareness that smartphone batteries can prove to be dangerous if not handled carefully. The Samsung Galaxy note 7 could be a better example for this which Samsung discontinued after several of its battery explosion cases reported across the globe.

We all use smartphones so we will advise you to take caution while handling these smartphone batteries and to make sure you don’t get into any trouble with them.
