We hall have been hearing about Samsung’s new Galaxy A8s device for quite some time now and today Samsung finally made it official. Samsung on Monday finally launched its new Galaxy A8s smartphone at an event in China. The Samsung Galaxy A8s is Samsung’s and the world’s first smartphone to feature an in-display camera hole on an infinity-O display to house a single 24-megapixel selfie camera. Other key specs from the camera department include triple rear camera set up at the back.
The newly launched Galaxy A8s features a 6.39-inch Infinity-O LCD display with 2340×1080 resolution, 95 percent screen-to-body and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. As for the design, the Galaxy A8s features a gradient color finish on the edges and the back, with an all-glass body.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with 6GB + 128GB storage and 8GB + 128GB storage. The storage on the device can also be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.
In the camera department, the Galaxy A8s features triple rear camera setup, including a 24-megapixel main camera with F1.7 large aperture and autofocus, a 5-megapixel depth-sensing camera with F2.2 aperture and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with F2.4 aperture and autofocus at the back. The device also features a 24-megapixel selfie camera on the front placed in an infinity-O display.
The Samsung Galaxy A8s packs a 3400 mAh battery which was previously reported to be of 3300 mAh. The device also comes with 3.5mm headphone jack and uses a USB Type-C port for charging the device with its adaptive fast charging support. The device is also comes equipped with Samsung’s own virtual assistant Bixby.
