We have already covered a lot of leaks and renders about Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone the Mi 9. The device was first spotted on the Geekbench with the name Xiaomi Cepheus. Then a blue color variant of the Xiaomi Mi 9 seen in the hands of Xiaomi’s product director Wang Teng. Notably, Xiaomi has now officially confirmed that it will launch the Mi 9 on February 20th in China. However, now it looks like, Xiaomi is also planning to launch a new Explorer Edition of its Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone.

A new image of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition posted today on Chineses social media site Weibo via serial tipster Bango Gogo on Twitter. The new device which is supposed to be the new Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition. The new device appears to have the similarly designed transparent pack panel like seen on the last year’s launched Xiaomi Mi 8.

The image also reveals quad (four) camera set up at the back with LED flashlight. Though, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 will have a triple ear camera setup. Unfortunately, the new leaked image of the alleged Mi 9 Explorer Edition didn’t reveal any other details about the device.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Specifications, Pricing, and Availability (Expected)

According to the leaked specs details, the upcoming Mi 9 will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED Notched display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution. The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The device will include a 3,500mAh battery with 32w Quick Charge 4.0.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 will sport a triple rear camera setup, including a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor with a 3D ToF (Time of Flight) camera.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Leaked Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Mi 9 is said to carry a price tag of 2,999 Yuan (around $436) for the 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt storage. The Xiaomi Mi 9 is set for a launch date on February 20, 2019 in China.
