Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS Update Brings Support for a Second Face Unlock

If you ever wanted to use a second face to unlock your Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS then here is a new update for your device that will allow you to add a second face to unlock your device. While no one likes sharing their phones credential with anyone, there are still chances you might want to allow someone to do so, maybe someone who is really close to you.

However, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro was launched in October last year. If you recall, the device came out with two different unlocking options, in-display fingerprint sensor and 3D Face Unlock.

The 3D Face Unlock feature on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro uses the 3D depth sensing camera system to securely unlock your phone. However, the MIUI 9 on the Mate 20 Pro only allowed users to use a single face to unlock the device until today. But now it looks like Huawei is finally adding up the support to use a second face to unlock the device.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 RS Update Brings Support for a Second Face Unlock

A new Huawei’s Chinese forum post has revealed that the Mate 20 Pro is now receiving a new update that allows users to add a second face for face unlock. The new update will allow a second user to scan their face to unlock the phone so, you both can unlock the phone whenever you want.

Adding multiple authentications on your device adds an extra layer of protection. This new option added with the latest Huawei Mate 20 Pro update will allow you to add that extra layer of protection on your device.

We have also seen smartphone manufactures adding multiple fingerprints authentications to their devices to make the device more secure for the users.

Other Features

The update also adds some other features such as the option to hide the notifications on the lock screen, facial authentication for payments in WeChat and Alipay and application lock. According to the forum post, the update is currently rolling out in China.
