LG is expected to hold its event on February 24 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019. LG is widely expected to announce its new flagship smartphone the LG G8 ThinQ. The upcoming LG G8 ThinQ will be a power-packed smartphone with a Snapdragon 855 SoC, 4000mAh battery and a new cooling system for gaming. LG was also reported to be working on sound-producing display last month by serial tipsters @OnLeaks.

Now LG has officially confirmed that its upcoming LG G8 ThinQ will feature Crystal Sound OLED (CSO) display, (an innovative technology that utilizes the phone’s OLED display as an audio amplifier). LG will bring the new CSO technology working Meridian Audio.

Below you can find the LG G8 ThinQ CSO features:

  • DTS:X 3D Surround Sound that emulates a 7.1-channel system with or without earphones, a first for LG
  • Hi-Fi Quad DAC that elevates the listening experience by reproducing sound with exceptional fidelity and the added ability to up-sample most audio files for increased clarity and depth
  • Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) that supports high-quality audio streaming even without an unlimited data plan
  • Boombox Speaker that takes advantage of the internal space of the phone as a resonance chamber to generate amazing bass and more volume

A recent report has also suggested that the upcoming LG G8 ThinQ will sport a front camera equipped with Time-of-Flight (ToF) and 3D sensing technology. The Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology is said to improve the selfie shots, while the 3D sensing technology will increase the accuracy of its 3D face recognition system.

The upcoming LG G8 ThinQ is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC with support for the 5G network. The device is expected to come with 6GB of RAM and expandable storage up to 2TB via micro SD card.

Recent renders of the LG G8 ThinQ have revealed that the phone will feature dual rear camera setup and a dedicated fingerprint sensor at the back. The display will have a bigger Notch.
