Fortnite V8.01 Patch Update Brings Buried Treasure Map, Bug Fixes, and New Bottle Rockets

A recent Fortnite’s in-game News feed teaser suggested that the game will soon get a new Buried Treasure map with its upcoming update. The teaser had revealed that with the new map players will get to uncover hidden loot across the island and find the X marks which appear to be on the south-east of the new Volcano point of interest. Now the Buried Treasure map is finally available with Fortnite latest V8.01 Patch Update. The latest patch update also adds several new weapons, items, and some gameplay tweak.

The Fortnite’s official patch notes add that players will have to find the X that marks the spot, and will have to dig down to find the buried treasure. Below you can find the new weapons and items added in this update.

• Buried Treasure
  • It’s a map that is used to track down buried chests on the map.
    • Chests contain a trove of legendary loot.
    • X marks the spot! The chest must be dug up using a pickaxe.
  • There is a limit of one map held at a time.

  • Can be found from Floor Loot and Chests.
• Reduced Infantry Rifle availability
  • Reduced the chance of receiving an Infantry Rifle from Chests from 14.41% to 13.39%
  • Reduced the chance of receiving an Infantry Rifle from Floor Loot from 2.41% to 2.24%
• Reduced Clinger availability
  • Reduced the chance of receiving Clinger’s from Chests from 9.42% to 5.52%
  • Reduced the chance of receiving Clinger’s from Floor Loot from 1.27% to 1.02%
• Vaulted
  • Bottle Rockets
