Nokia 9 PureView Latest Software Update Brings Fingerprint Improvements and April Security Patch

HMD Global announced its latest Nokia 9 PureView in the US in February this year. Earlier in March last month, Nokia 9 received its first major software update based on Android 9 pie version V4.19A and March 3 security patch. Now, HMD Global has announced that Nokia 9 PureView is receiving a new update that will improve the fingerprint experience on the device. Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global made the announcement via his official Twitter account. Juho said that a new staged software update is now rolling out for the Nokia 9 PureView globally. He also noted that users should re-enroll their fingerprint for the best experience. According to a Twitter user called TechAltar who received the first software update on his Nokia 9 PureView confirmed the following improvements after updating his device.

Improved:
Fingerprint reader
Inaccurate screen calibration
Over sharped JPGs
Weird skin colors
Overexposed photos
HDR

According to his another tweet, the latest Nokia 9 PureView update weighs around 250.4 MB in size and also brings April security patch. Notably, the Nokia 9 PureView was launched running Android 9 Pie with January security patch.

Nokia 9 PureView Specifications

The new Nokia 9 PureView features a PureDisplay 5.99” QHD+ pOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Out of the box, the phone comes powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The Phone runs on Android 9 Pie.

On the camera side, Nokia 9 PureView features a five ZEISS rear camera setup, which includes, two 12MP f/1.8 color sensors (RGB), and three 12MP f/1.8 monochrome sensors. Up front, there is a 20MP shooter.

Additionally, the Nokia 9 PureView includes a USB Type-C port and 3320 mAh battery that also comes with Qi Wireless charging support. The Nokia 9 PureView also comes with IP67 certified for water and dust resistant and NFC.
