Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi and ZTE Participated to Initiate China’s 5G Rollout With Qualcomm

Qualcomm, in partnership with several Chinese OEMs such as OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Nubia and ZTE at China Unicom Partner Conference, today announced support for the launch of China Unicom’s 5G. The company has already launched in the European market in partnership with Swisscom.

It was up to the manufacturers to supply the Snapdragon 855 enabled smartphones with the X50 5G modem. In addition, the devices feature an integrated RF transceiver and RF front-end solution from Qualcomm Technologies.

It takes many years of R&D, specification, prototyping, testing, trials, and product development to bring a new generation of mobile technology to China and the world,” said Frank Meng, Chairman, Qualcomm China, QUALCOMM International, Inc. “Like previous generations, 5G is the result of more than a decade of collaborative efforts by Qualcomm Technologies and our ecosystem partners, with the mission of preparing the mobile industry for 5G rollout starting this year. We’re excited for Chinese consumers to experience 5G’s truly transformative wireless experience in 2019.”

China Unicom will be the first operator in the country to deliver 5G experiences to its consumers. With 5G smartphones equipped with Qualcomm chips and modems, consumers can now benefit from multi-gigabit peak speeds and extremely low latency.
