Google at its I/O 2019 event, announced that Android Q beta will be available for more device including 21 smartphones from 13 different brands. In addition to this, HMD’s CPO Juho Sarvikas via his Twitter announced that Android Q Beta is now available for the Nokia 8.1. Juho also shared the Nokia Mobile’s developer portal, where users can go and enroll their Nokia 8.1 device and download the update by following the instructions there.
At the moment, the Android Q beta is available only via sideloading (flashing) and is supported for Nokia 8.1 device models: TA-1119, TA-1121 and TA-1128, with the 00WW software image.
HMD also says that the roll back to the Android Pie is not yet supported and it could be available by 16 May 2019. It is recommended that you wait for the full over-the-air (OTA) upgrade and when the rollback support is available.
Since this is a beta update you might experience some performance or stability issues after downloading and installing the update. The full list of smartphones which have been announced to get the latest Android Q beta update includes the following devices from different OME’s.
