Sony Xperia 1 Launched in China With SD855, 960fps Slow Motion Recording and More Priced at Yuan 6,299

Sony today at its launch event in China launched its latest flagship smartphone called the Sony Xperia 1. The key highlights of the smartphone include a 4K HDR display with 21:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 855 and triple rear camera setup. The has been priced in China at 6,299 Yuan ($910). Sony Experia 1 is set to launch globally on July 12 and its price in the global market is expected to be around $949.99.

Sony Xperia 1 Specifications

The Xperia 1 features large 6.5-inch OLED 4K HDR CinemaWide display. The phone is also the world’s first smartphone to come with an aspect ratio of 21:9. The display is feature Sony’s Bravia Engine technology to deliver more contrast and clarity with accurate color reproduction. The Xperia 1’s display has a 4K resolution of 3840 x 1644 pixels and it is protected by Gorilla Glass 6.

Sony is one of the first smartphone manufacturers to introduce who first introduced a water-resistant phone, and the new Xperia 1 is no exception. The Xperia 1 also comes with an IP68 rated water-resistant and dustproof chassis.

The device comes powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage, that also supports expandable storage via micro SD card. The phone runs on Android 9 Pie OS along with the company’s own UI and packs a 3,300mAh battery that also supports 18W rapid charging.

Now moving to the camera, the new Sony Xperia 1 sport a triple 12-megapixel rear camera setup. This includes a 12-megapixel main sensor with Dual Pixel PDAF and 5-axis OIS, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with Dual Pixel PDAF, 5-axis OIS and 2x optical zoom and an ultrawide lens of a 12-megapixel sensor. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel camera.

Some of the camera features include, “Cinema Pro” powered by CineAlta – 21:9 movie recording, look colour management pre-sets4K HDR movie recording, 960 fps Super slow motion video (FHD/HD), 2x optical zoom and more.

Other features include side-mounted fingerprint reader, no 3.5mm audio jack, Dolby Atmos support, 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS and USB-C.
