HTC U19e and HTC Desire 19+ Launched With Iris Unlock, Triple Rear Camera Setup and More

After a long gap, HTC has now launched two new smartphones the HTC U19e and the HTC Desire 19+ in Taiwan. Among the two, the new HTC U19e is the upper mid-range variant and it comes with a price tag of TWD 14,900 (roughly Rs. 33,000) with Extraordinary Purple and Modest Green colors options. While the HTC Desire 19+ has a price tag of TWD 9,990 (roughly Rs. 22,100) ad it comes in Star Indigo and Jasmine White color options.

The U19e will go on sale this week, while the HTC Desire 19+ will the stores next month in July. Now let’s check out the specifications of the two phones.

HTC U19e specifications

The new HTC U19e runs on Android 9 Pie with HTC Sense on top. The phone also has bezels on both top and bottom. The phone features a 6-inch full-HD+ OLED screen (1080×2160 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio, and HDR10 support. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage with microSD card slot.

In the camera departments, the new HTC U19e sports a dual rear camera setup including a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 20-megapixel sensor. Up front, there is a 24-megapixel selfie camera as well with a 2-megapixel sensor for iris-recognition unlock feature.

The phone packs a 3,930mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging support and also features a fingerprint sensor on its back. The new HTC U19e also comes with HTC BoomSound dual speakers, 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C.

HTC Desire 19+ specifications

The new HTC Desire 19+ also runs on Android 9 Pie with HTC Sense on top. It features a 6.2-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixel) display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, paired with up to 6GB of RAM.

The HTC Desire 19+ comes with a triple rear camera setup including a 13-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, and a third 5-megapixel depth camera. There is a 16-megapixel shooter on the front for selfies.

The new HTC Desire 19+ packs 3,850mAh battery and also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well.
