Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Software earlier today confirmed that Borderlands 3 won’t have cross-play when the game will officially launch on September 13, 2019. Now, this might disappoint Borderlands 3 fans, but the good news is that the cross-play feature will be available on all major platforms after the launch of the game, maybe as part of the first post-launch update for the game.
In his tweet, Randy confirmed that the Gearbox team is committed to bringing the cross-play support for Borderlands 3 on all possible platforms. Randy on another tweet said that the team is working closely with their partners to create a positive cross-play experience as soon as practicable. Check out Randy Pitchford’s tweets below.
Some folks may be speculating that this thing tomorrow may be about cross play. Tomorrow’s thing is awesome, but *not* about cross-play. But, Good News: We are committed to supporting cross-play for Borderlands 3 with our partners as soon as practicable after launch. #talklater https://t.co/XtUzrBpySP
