Nintendo today announced a new lighter and more compact version of its popular Nintendo Switch console called the Nintendo Switch Lite. Alongside, Nintendo also launched new Special Pokemon Sword and Shield Edition of its Nintendo Switch Lite called the Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta. The newly announced Nintendo Switch Lite will retail for $199.99 and will be available on September 20, 2019, in three colors, turquoise blue, yellow and grey.

On the other hand, the Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta Edition (see below) will be available on November 8 this year in a grey color option with cyan and magenta buttons with illustrations of the cover legendaries on the back.

The new Nintendo Switch Lite is designed to fit in everyone’s hand more comfortably. It is much lighter and compact than the regular Nintendo Switch version.

The new Nintendo Switch Lite has a smaller 5.5-inch screen compared to the 6.2-inch of the regular console version. The good thing about the new the Lite is that it comes with the same 1080p resolution display that will give users a much better viewing experience.

It also much lighter and comes at just .61 lbs compared to .88 lbs of the regular version. The Switch Lite also comes with Built-in controllers for handheld play and it supports all the Nintendo Switch games that work in handheld mode.

The Nintendo Switch Lite also supports online play with Nintendo Switch Online membership for compatible games as well as multiplayer gameplay with up to eight Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite systems together. It also comes with the improved battery life which is said to provide up to 3-7 hours of gameplay from 2.5 to 6.5 hours per charge.
