Xiaomi has confirmed that its upcoming Redmi 8 smartphone will be launched in India on October 9 and it will be available especially via Flipkart. Now, ahead of its official launch on October 9 Xiaomi has shared some key details about the Redmi 8 device. The Redmi 8 microsite at Mi.com reveals some key information including the primary camera, battery, and design of the upcoming Redmi 8.
Going by the information on the microsite, the Redmi 8 will feature a dual rear camera setup by housing a flagship-level Sony sensor that will also have features like edge detection and precise skin tone mapping.
The Redmi 8 will also feature a fingerprint reader placed at the rear below the camera and a waterdrop notch at the front. The microsite further has a teaser about the battery of the Redmi 8. According to the teaser, the Redmi 8 will have a bigger and “the most updated battery setup” with fast charging support. The teaser, however, didn’t reveal the capacity of the battery, but it is expected to be of 4,000mAh.
The site also reveals that the upcoming Redmi 8 will feature the aura mirror design like seen on many other previously launched Redmi devices. It also reveals that the Redmi 8 will feature a bigger display for easy multitasking. The display on the Redmi 8 will also come with ultimate screen protection and splash-resistant.
Xiaomi hasn’t yet revealed the price and other details about the Redmi 8. However, rumors have suggested that the Redmi will come powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, 3GB of RAM, Android Pie and an HD+ display. The Redmi 8 is expected to be priced under Rs. 10,000 in India.
