November 2019 Xbox One Update Brings Google Assistant, Gamertags Improvements, Text Filters and More

Microsoft has started rolling out the latest November 2019 update for Xbox One and it brings a host of new features and improvements to the Xbox One console. Most notably, the latest November 2019 update for Xbox One brings the Xbox Action for Google Assistant. The Xbox Action for the Google Assistant is now publicly available to Xbox One customers in all countries where the Google Assistant is supported. Xbox Action for the Google Assistant currently supports English language only as more languages will be coming soon.

Using the new Xbox Action for the Google Assistant feature, you will now be able to interact with your Xbox One in even more. You will now be able to turn your console on and off, launch games and apps, play and pause videos, and more just by using your voice.

To give instructions, you can use the new feature by using any of your Google Assistant and Home-enabled smart speaker or devices, as well as the Google Assistant apps on iOS and Android

Gamertags Improvements on Console

To recall, Microsoft revamped its Gamertags across PC, mobile devices and Xbox One consoles at E3 this summer, This was to give players more choice in how they represent themselves including 13 additional worldwide alphabets and a new display option.

Now with the latest November 2019 Xbox update, all these Gamertag options will be available on console, including profiles, friend lists, messages, Clubs, LFG and more.

Text Filters

The latest Xbox One update will now also let you set your specific level of automated filtration, so you can decide what to accept and what not in the text-based messages you receive across Xbox Live.

You can configure your message filtration setting by heading to Settings > General > Online safety & family > Privacy & online safety > Message safety.

Further, the latest update now lets you have the option to move the Mixer chat on the left or right side of your screen or hide it altogether. It will also be updating the Subscribe button.

Improved Voice-to-text Dictation

The November 2019 Xbox One update also improves the Voice-to-text dictation by adding more languages support. The current languages supported are English (US & Canada), English (India), English (UK), Spanish (Mexico), Spanish (Spain), French (Canada), French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
