OnePlus has officially confirmed that it will launch the OnePlus 8 series smartphones on April 14. The company via its official twitter account announced that the OnePlus 8 series launch event will kick-off via live stream on the company’s official website and YouTube channel on April 14 at 8:30 pm IST.
The new OnePlus 8 series is likely to include, the new OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro devices. OnePlus has also confirmed that the new OnePlus 8 series devices will support 5G connectivity and 120Hz refresh rate on its display.
However, we are not yet sure which one of the two devices will have a 120Hz refresh rate display. Maybe both the devices could come featuring a 120Hz refresh rate display or only the pro one. I think, that the OnePlus 8 Pro will have a 120Hz refresh rate display, while the OnePlus 8 will remain at 90Hz.
Notably, OnePlus brought the 2K+ 90Hz Fluid Display on the OnePlus 7 Pro earlier this year. Now, the company is taking the OnePlus smartphone display to the next level with its upcoming OnePlus 8 series.
The OnePlus 8 series official website confirms that there will a black colour variant of the devices. However, there might be two or more colour variants for the two devices. Recently, a number of official renders of the upcoming OnePlus 8 were leaked by Winfuture revealing the device in Green, new Glow and simple black colours options.
The two phones are likely to feature a quad and a triple rear camera setup, including a 48MP main camera, Snapdragon 865 SoC. The OnePlus 8 Pro may also come with IP68 Rating for waterproofing and up to 4000mAh battery with fast charging support.
