Sony today officially announced PlayStation Studios, a new brand name that will unite all of its first-party exclusive PlayStation games under one brand name. Notably, the new PlayStation Studios will go live alongside PlayStation 5 later this year. The Studio will only feature games developed and managed by Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios organization, the source reads.
For its new PlayStation Studios brand name, Sony has also introduced a new logo that will appear on the marketing of PlayStation games, box art, and game discs and a new opening animation video that will be shown when you boot up upcoming Sony first-party games.
“We are really excited about this,” says Eric Lempel, senior vice president and head of global marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment. “Over the last few years — and even the last decade — the strength of the titles coming out from our studios has been stronger than ever. We have been thinking about how we unite all of these great games under one brand, and really the purpose of that is to make the consumer understand that, when they see this brand, they’re getting ready for a robust, innovative, deep experience that they’ve come to expect from games coming from PlayStation. So we came up with PlayStation Studios.
Please note, that the new PlayStation Studios will also carry Sony’s PS4 games under its name. But upcoming games such as The Last of Us: Part II or Ghosts of Tsushima which are both due to arrive this summer won’t have it.
The video features characters from Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Horizon: Zero Dawn and The Last of Us. You can check out the video below.
