Redmi Note 9 Launched in India, Price, Specifications and Availability

Xiaomi has launched another made in India smartphone in the country. Yes, Xiaomi today officially launched the new Redmi Note 9 in India. The new Redmi Note 9 comes as a new affordable smartphone by Xiaomi with decent specs packed under the hood. The Redmi Note 9 is also the third phone in the Note 9 series which also consist of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max launched earlier.

To recall, the Redmi Note 9 launched globally in April this year alongside the Mi Note 10 Lite and Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Redmi Note 9 Highlight

As for the highlight, the new Redmi Note 9 features a quad rear camera setup and a hole-punch selfie camera at the front. The phone also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a large 5,020mAh battery that Xiaomi claims to provide two days of battery life on a single charge. The Redmi Note 9 also comes with up to 6GB of RAM coupled with up to 128GB of onboard eMMC 5.1 storage.

Redmi Note 9 Price

The Redmi Note 9 is priced in India at Rs. 11,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. While the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option doesn’ has a price yet. There is also a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model that is priced at Rs. 14,999. It comes in three distinct colour options, namely Aqua Green, Arctic White, and Pebble Grey.

Redmi Note 9 First Sale and Availability in India

The Redmi Note 9 will be available through its first sale in India starting 12pm IST (noon) on Friday, July 24 through Amazon, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.

Redmi Note 9 Specifications and Features

The new Redmi Note 9 features a 6.53-inch full-HD+ Dot Display, and it runs on Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top. The display also comes protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Redmi Note 9 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, coupled with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of onboard eMMC 5.1 storage.

For powering the device, there is a 5,020mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging (a 22.5W fast charger included in the box). The battery also supports 9W reverse charging.

The Camera

The new Redmi Note 9 sports a quad rear camera setup that includes a main 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, a 2-megapixel sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

For selfies, the Redmi Note 9 features a 13-megapixel hole-punch selfie camera placed at the top left corner of the screen.
