It is still unclear when and at what prices the two next-generation consoles of PS5 and Xbox Series X will be released. The information from a usually well-informed insider ensures fresh speculation.

During this year’s Christmas business, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft will usher in the new generation of consoles with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, respectively.

To the distress of the players, those responsible at Sony Interactive Entertainment have not been ready to provide any specific information about the launch of the PS5. After all, Microsoft was elicited that the Xbox Series X will find its way onto retailers’ shelves in November 2020. The insider Roberto Serrano, who was mostly correct in his statements in the recent past, is currently providing fresh speculation.

According to Serrano, Microsoft will begin by releasing new generation consoles in the first week of November – more precisely on November 5th (Xbox Series S) and November 6th, 2020 (Xbox Series X).

While the price of the Xbox Series X should amount to $499 US dollars or euros, Serrano gives the price of the Xbox Series S at $299 US dollars or euros. With the Xbox Series S we are dealing with a less powerful model of the Xbox Series X, with which Microsoft is aiming for a display in 1440p and would like to give gamers an inexpensive entry into the new generation of consoles.

We come to the PlayStation 5, which is also known to appear in two different versions. As Serrano explained, the standard edition of the PS5 also costs $499 US dollars or euros.

The digital-only version of the PlayStation 5, in which an optical drive was omitted, is said to be available for $399 US dollars/euros, according to the insider. The market launch of the two PS5 models will, therefore, take place on November 13, 2020.

Please note, however, that Serrano’s information has not yet been commented or confirmed by Sony Interactive Entertainment or Microsoft. So it remains to be seen whether at least the “big” models of the PS5 and the Xbox Series X will actually enter the race for the same price.
