While content will remain the same between the two versions, the company advises that resolution and load times will benefit from an upgrade. In addition, cross-play between the PS4 and PS5 is supported. PC gamers are left out.

Elsewhere, Arc System Works confirmed that you can use the DLCs in both PS4 and PS5 versions as long as you use the same Sony Entertainment Network account.

Backward compatibility was also addressed: “The PlayStation 4 version can be played on the PlayStation 5 using the system’s backwards compatibility. However, it will perform the same as the PlayStation 4 version (with a maximum resolution of 1080p).”

Guilty Gear Strive is to be used for a restart of the long-lasting fighting game series. In this context, Arc System Works would like to break down the well-known gameplay into the essential components and use the expertise acquired in recent years to give Guilty Gear a new coat of paint. While changes will be incorporated, the aim is to stay true to the roots of the series.

The title will be released on April 9, 2021 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
