PS5 Will Allow You to Share Your Game Library with Friends, Here is How to Share

A few days before the release of PS5, scheduled for this November 12th, Sony has revealed that the new generation console will keep one of the most popular features of PlayStation 4, namely “Activate as Your Primary PS4,” only that it will have a different name.

For the uninitiated, this feature allows players to share their game library digitally, even using different accounts, simply by setting the console as the main one.

On PlayStation 5, this feature will be called “Console Sharing and Offline Play” and will offer users the same service offered by “Activate as Your Primary PS4,” allowing multiple players to access the digital content of an account, even if the device is not connected to the Internet.

Furthermore, according to what emerged from different reports, only a PS5 can enable console sharing at any time. But the feature can be activated or deactivated at any time by the owner. Accessing the feature is also quite simple.

To get there, just follow these simple steps:

  • Go to Settings
  • Users and Accounts > Other
  • Select Console Sharing and Offline Play
  • Choose Disable or Don’t Disable.

Furthermore, Sony has made sure that console sharing does not interfere with the main PlayStation 4 in any way, so anyone who plans to play both consoles, using the same account, can do so without the worry of always having to activate this feature.

But that’s not all, according to what emerged from an accurate analysis by Eurogamer.net, the next-gen console of the Japanese company would be much more energy-efficient than the previous PlayStation 4 Pro, consuming just 1.3 W in Rest Mode with all its features enabled, compared to the PS4 Pro’s 5W.

PlayStation 5 will be available for purchase starting November 12, 2020, at the price of $499 respectively for Standard edition and $399 for Digital Edition.
