New Overwatch Patch Adds Support for NVIDIA Reflex Tech and Bug Fixes

Blizzard has released a new patch for Overwatch on its Public Test Server that adds support for NVIDIA Reflex tech. According to Nvidia, Reflex is a revolutionary suite of GPU, G-SYNC display, and software technologies that measure and reduce system latency in competitive games (a.k.a. click-to-display latency).

“NVIDIA Reflex technology arms developers with new features to minimize latency in their games. We’re seeing excellent responsiveness and player control with Fortnite running on the GeForce RTX 30 Series.” – Nick Penwarden, VP of Engineering, Epic Games.

With the latest patch, Overwatch players with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900 Series GPU and newer can experience up to 50% reduction in system latency and even more improved PC responsiveness while gaming.

Players with a GeForce GTX 900 Series GPU and newer can take advantage of the lowest latency rate while playing any of the top competitive games, including Fortnite, Valorant, Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Destiny 2.

Nvidia also says that players with popular mid-range cards, like the GeForce GTX 1660 Super, can expect up to a 33% improvement in PC responsiveness with Reflex. Also, Reflex enabled GPUs can also enable the flash indicator option to help improve the reliability of input latency measurement with Reflex Latency Analyzer-equipped monitors.

Overwatch players can now download the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver from NVIDIA to try out Reflex tech in Overwatch by enabling the feature in the game’s display settings.

To recall, Nvidia announced to bring its Reflex tech support for Overwatch and Rainbow Six Siege in January this year 2021. Games like Apex Legends, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare and Warzone, Fortnite, and Valorant have already received the benefits of NVIDIA Reflex.
