Square Enix has delayed their upcoming RPG Forspoken by several months. Originally set to release in May, the game has now been delayed until October 11th. The delay is likely due to a variety of factors. According to the press release, the delay was due to “unplanned difficulties.” However, this has not prevented the development team from pushing the game forward.
The developers are working to make the game viable for several years. This means that the team is aiming to launch it at a stage where the game has enough time to build a long tail.
While Square Enix had previously insisted that Forspoken would be released in May of this year, the rough gameplay previews have shown that the game needs a little more time in development. So, the developers have decided to push the game back to Q4 of 2022.

It is unknown if this will affect the PlayStation 5 version of the game. The delayed date is not the only thing that gamers will be disappointed with.
The delayed-release date of Forspoken is the latest sign that the developer is taking extra care to improve the game’s quality. The game’s original release date was May 24th, but the delay will allow the game to improve upon it.
It is also the first time that Square Enix has been so rushed to release a new game, and this has slowed them down considerably.
