Telltale Games has confirmed that the sequel “Return to Monkey Island” to the critically-acclaimed adventure game The Secret of Monkey Island will be released in 2022. The game will be developed by Terrible Toybox, with a team from Lucasfilm Games and Devolver Digital. The first game was released in 1992, and the sequel will be released a decade later.
It is a third-person shooter, and it will follow the adventures of Guybrush Threepwood, a young sailor who wants to make his fortune on his own. The upcoming games will have the same gameplay mechanics as the first two games, and players will have to fight evil pirate LeChuck to save the world.

After the success of the first game, the developers have announced a sequel to the series. The game will be called Return to Monkey Island and will be a direct follow-up to Monkey Islands: LeChuck’s Revenge.
While it will feature some familiar characters from the first two games, the plot will be completely different. The developers will not be following the storyline of the other games in the series.
The game is being developed by Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman, who worked together on the first two games. The game’s soundtrack will be composed by the original composers.
It will also feature Dominic Armato as the voice of Guybrush Threepwood. Despite its vagueness, the news is exciting for fans of the franchise. It’s certainly worth a look! You can also check out the trailer below.
