Splatoon 3 is coming to Nintendo’s Switch on September 9. In an initial launch date prediction, the game was set to release in Summer 2022. It is a multiplayer shooter that lets players create teams of squids, and features an expansive new world called Splatlands. The game is set to feature four-v-four online battles and a story campaign, as well as customizing your Squid Kids.
New weapons and special abilities have also been introduced in the game, including the bow and arrow, which offers an alternative to the sniper role. Players will no longer have a line of sight when using the bow and arrow, and misses will turn into tiny area-effect bombs.
Another notable change is the hookshot feature, which lets players focus on a specific area and shoot at it, effectively ending the game in that location.
Splatoon 3 is the latest in a series that started out as a Nintendo Wii title. Like the previous game, Splatoon 3 has an upcoming launch date of September 9. The Octo Expansion DLC will be included with your Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription.
Previously, you’d have to purchase it separately. Its new multiplayer mode, however, will let you create teams of three and compete in four-v-four battles in a single map.
The new game also features the Salmon Run mode, which is a cooperative horde mode that involves four players. In the multiplayer mode, players will work together to eliminate octarians, steal eggs, and collect crates of gold.
The game also features a single-player campaign that requires players to play solo. If you’re looking for new multiplayer games, be sure to check out Splatoon 3.
