The upcoming AMD SP5 socket may support up to 12TB of Memory. This is an astonishing amount of memory, and it could greatly increase the overall performance of your system. The upcoming socket will have 6096 pins, arranged in LGA format, making it the largest AMD socket yet. This will provide you with nearly two times the performance of the LGA 4094 socket, which supports only eight terabytes of memory.

The AMD Zen 4 architecture EPYC processor is due to launch in 2022, competing with the Intel Xeon “Sapphire Rapids” processor. An upcoming variant of this processor, codenamed “Bergamo,” will have up to 128 cores.

The new socket could be a big step for AMD in the future. It could be a real game changer for gamers, as it’s already capable of handling high-end games and graphics applications.

The AMD SP5 socket will be used in EPYC processors in 2022 and 2023. The new processor will have 6096 LGA contact pads, which is more than four times the number of contact pads found on current-gen SP3 processors.

The dual 2P platform, meanwhile, will feature two SP5 sockets with a total of 24 DIMM slots. In a dual-socket system, up to twelve terabytes of memory could be supported.

The upcoming AMD EPYC Genoa processor is also being built on an SP5 socket. It is likely to be the first AMD processor to support up to 12TB of memory. Gigabyte leaked some documents about the next-generation processors.

The new processors are intended to replace existing DDR4 RAM and feature a new motherboard that has more pins. AMD has not released any documents confirming these new processors, but there are some rumors about them floating around.
