After launching the Ronin 4D cinema camera last year, DJI has now significantly expanded its gimbal portfolio with the announcement of the new RS 3 and RS3 Pro gimbals. In addition, DJI has announced a wireless system that will allow users to monitor their compatible gimbals from a distance. The gimbals will enable filmmakers to capture stable video footage with precise subject tracking.
The RS3 Pro features an advanced stabilisation system with third-generation stabilization algorithms and automated axis locking. Both gimbals offer a 12-hour battery life and a new focus motor, granting users fast autofocus with manual cinema lenses.
The new RS3 Pro is a technological tour de force and weighs 3.3 pounds. The RS3 Pro also boasts a 1.8-inch OLED touchscreen and automatic axis lock.
The RS 3 Pro weighs only 1.5 kg same as RS 2 and features a quick-release plate. The RS 3 Pro features the same 1.8-inch OLED screen and gimbal mode switch as the RS 3.
It also includes DJI Transmission, which is the company’s first-ever video transmission system. These new gimbals can be used with the DJI LiDAR rangefinder.
The RS 3 Pro gimbals are more compact than the RSC 2. This new gimbal also incorporates an updated axis locking mechanism and Bluetooth Shutter Button.
This means that users no longer have to fiddle with the cables to control their cameras. These gimbals feature a 1.8-inch OLED touchscreen, 80% more surface area than the RSC 2 touchscreen.
As for the pricing, DJI RS 3 is priced at $549, while the DJI RS 3 Pro is priced at $869. Both the gimbals are now available on DJI’s official website.
