The highly anticipated Overwatch sequel is finally coming. Overwatch 1 was an instant classic, and now fans can look forward to a new chapter. During the Xbox & Bethesda Games, Showcase Blizzard announced Overwatch 2. As per the announcement, the game will officially be out on October 4, 2022, and will be free to play and include an all-new hero Junker Queen, maps, and modes.
Overwatch 2 will introduce a new progression system centered around hero missions, which will let players level up their heroes and unlock their abilities. The progression system will primarily serve as a PvE feature and not a competitive mode.
To recall, the Overwatch 2 5v5 multiplayer PVP beta kicked off earlier this year in March 2022.
There is also a new New Overwatch 2 trailer which you can watch below.

Activision Blizzard has made several changes to their leadership teams. The original game director of Overwatch left the company last year after working there for 19 years. Another notable departure was Luis Barriga, who was fired in August.
The company also experienced production problems, including a covid-like disease that affected production across the industry. Ultimately, Activision Blizzard has decided to hire a new director to handle Overwatch.
Overwatch 2, launching on October 4, will be free-to-play on Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation5, PlayStation4, and Nintendo Switch consoles.
