More printers and printing issues are surfacing with the latest Windows 11 22H2 update. Microsoft in its official blogpost confirmed that it it is aware of the issues and has applied a safeguard hold to this version of Windows because of the issues. These problems occur with printers that use the Microsoft IPP Class Driver or Universal Print Class Driver. The issue may prevent your device from connecting to network printers and printing, as well as preventing certain features from working. If you’re experiencing any of these problems, don’t install the update.
Windows 11 22H2 is a release candidate, but the final version is still in development. This build includes some of the security changes found in the first release, as well as many new UI features. Among them are a new taskbar manager, drag-and-drop functionality, and more customization options for the Start menu. Users can already test the new updates in the beta channel.
Other improvements with this update include an improved Do Not Disturb mode and a new Focus Assist mode. This feature allows users to get notifications when the screen is in the focus state. Another improvement is an improved on-screen keyboard and new icons.
The design is based on the Fluent design system. The SMB1 protocol has also been disabled by default in Home edition, and Microsoft plans to remove its binaries from future releases.
The update is also causing problems with Nvidia graphics cards. Users affected by this issue have been told to update their GeForce Experience drivers to version 3.26 BETA. The instructions for doing so can be found on Nvidia’s website.
