Ubisoft Clarifies Assassin’s Creed Mirage Won’t Have Lootboxes or “real gambling”

It appears that Ubisoft is moving away from the traditional non-service gaming model with Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It is also clear that the developer is not planning a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed. Art director Jean-Luc Sala said to Eurogamer the company is “fully dedicated” to its other projects.

As of the moment, it is unclear when the game will launch, but it will hit PC in 2023. Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s ESRB rating is “E“. Although some store pages have mislabeled it with an Adults Only rating, Ubisoft is keen to reassure gamers that it will contain no real gambling or lootboxes.

Another major difference between the game’s lootboxes and its traditional gameplay is the focus on a more linear story. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a stealth game set in Baghdad. Unlike the original, this new version will be smaller in scale and won’t fit into the traditional November launch window.

Loot boxes have become an increasingly controversial issue in video games. Many triple-A titles have implemented them. While they’ve embraced the concept, they have also been cutting content to sell back later. In some cases, this approach is necessary to avoid microtransactions. However, it’s important to know that loot boxes are not part of every video game.

As of today, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is currently rated as “Adults Only” in the Xbox store. This rating is based on the game’s content; some of the content has been deemed inappropriate for younger gamers. In addition, the game features some sexual content and violence that may offend some people.

As an Adult Only game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s ESRB rating is unusually high. While Ubisoft claims that the AO rating is an error, it is unclear which rating Ubisoft plans to apply for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Regardless of its age rating, this game is likely to contain lootboxes or real gambling, so it’s best to consult the ESRB website before purchasing the game.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an impressive game that takes AC back to its roots. Whether you’re an experienced player or a complete beginner, Assassin’s Creed Mirage offers a fun and exciting experience that may even end up being a Netflix series.
