Blizzard has officially announced two open beta dates for Diablo 4 that will take place over two weekends in March. One weekend includes early access to the open beta from March 17–19 for those who pre-ordered the game, while the other second weekend includes an open beta that will be accessible to everyone else from March 24–26.
Participants in the open beta must redeem their code through Blizzard’s website. This involves completing a survey and verifying your account to get in. However, there is no guarantee you’ll get in as it’s a lottery system.
The open beta will offer players a “significant glimpse” at the game, focused on Prologue and Act 1 set in Fractured Peaks zone. Characters can level up to 25 during both weekends, completing all main and side quests. Notably, Beta progress won’t be carried to the full game.
Diablo 4 offers an entirely unique experience from its predecessors including the new Necromancer class, with an expansive open world full of activities like exploring dungeons and defeating bosses. There’s no single path for players to follow; they can play through the story however many times they wish.
Furthermore, the game’s skill system is much more accessible than Diablo 3. There’s even a respec option early on that lets you upgrade individual skills for just enough gold to upgrade them.
Diablo 4 will launch for the PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4|5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2023.
