COD MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Release Date

Call of Duty MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 is about to arrive. The update is expected to go live on Wednesday, April 12.

What’s New?

As usual, a new season brings a new 100-tier battle pass for players to grind through, unlocking weapons and cosmetics along the way. As with previous seasons, data miners are already finding possible hints for what’s coming in Season 3. The new season will also bring a new BlackCell Battle Pass priced at $30. You can check out more details about the BlackCell Battle Pass here.

The popular Gun Fight mode from Black Ops Cold War is returning to MW2 and WZ2, as is the Plunder mode that gives unlimited respawns and challenges players to loot as much cash as possible. The Barter system will also be making its way to DMZ, allowing players to trade their items at Buy Stations.

Ranked Mode

Ranked Mode is a battle royale mode in which players compete against others of their skill level, earn rewards, and rank up to compete among the best. Season 3 of Call of Duty MW2 and WZ2 brings this feature to both games, along with several other changes.

Ranked Play is an official competitive 4v4 Multiplayer experience for Modern Warfare 2 presented by Treyarch with the Call of Duty League (CDL). This includes “CDL-approved rules, restrictions, maps, and modes.”

The mode will feature a Skill Based Matchmaking system that aims to separate players into different skill divisions. Players will start in the Bronze Rank and work their way through eight Skill Divisions to reach Iridescent or Top 250 tier. Getting wins in Ranked play will earn you Rank and Seasonal Win rewards.

Gun Fight Mode

Gun Fight is one of the most popular 2v2 modes in Modern Warfare 2. In Season 3, players will have the opportunity to experience it with a new map rotation that includes Shipment and Blacksite.

This is a very close-quarters environment that lends itself to highly-tactical and fast gameplay. With no killstreaks and no customization, Gunfight offers a great way to play the game with friends.

There are a few changes coming to Gunfight in Season 3. First, everyone will start the match with a three plate vest instead of a two, which should reduce the amount of randomisers. Secondly, there will be an additional loadout drop event during every match. This will make it easier to get your hands on a weapon that suits your style of play, and should also speed up the platting process for you.

UAV Towers

In Warzone 2.0’s DMZ mode, players can activate UAV Towers to receive intel from fixed sources. This recon tool allows players to see the live locations of enemies and AI combatants within a radius.

To do so, open up the Tac Map and look for a symbol that resembles a radio tower emitting frequency waves. Once found, interact with the tower console and you will be granted several circular UAV sweeps to a few dozen meters around it.

Activating these fixed sources is a great way to get a jump on the competition and help your team out. Whether you’re looking to steal enemy Contraband Weapons or simply want some additional surveillance, this is one of the best ways to do so. So make sure to activate a few towers in your matches when you come across them.

Police Stations

Police Stations are one of the most important locations to visit in Call of Duty MW2 and WZ2 Season 3. They’re usually full of weapons, cash, plate satchels, and other goodies that can help you out during a match.

They can also be used to complete DMZ missions like the White Lotus ’Badge of Honor’ mission that requires you to obtain a Basilisk pistol.

The Badge of Honor DMZ Faction Mission requires players to locate a Basilisk handgun at Police Stations, and then eliminate 13 enemies with headshots using it.

There are three Police Stations on Al Mazrah, located in Sa’id City (D5), Mawizeh Marshlands (G5), and Al-Mazrah City (F2). Be aware that they are surrounded by trigger-happy Bots, so approach with caution.

Call of Duty MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 will release on April 12, 2023.
