Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal is located in front of the cathedral before the Skyrest Bridge, past the Abandoned Redcopse Windmill and towards the upper area near the Iron Wayfarer. After defeating her as a boss, you can interact with Pieta as an NPC in the Skyrest Bridge Hub.
Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal – LOTF Fight Strategy:
Phase 1:
In this initial phase of the battle, you can seek assistance from the Iron Wayfarer before entering the boss arena. Pieta wields a long sword and can inflict Smite with her attacks, which have an extended reach. Here’s a strategy for Phase 1:
- Roll and Position: Roll through Pieta’s standard sword attacks to get into a better position for your own attacks. Maintain awareness of your positioning to avoid Smite damage.
- Soulflay: Use the Soulflay ability to significantly reduce Pieta’s poise, making her more vulnerable to your attacks.
- Timing: Keep your distance to prompt her approach. Dodge toward her when she gets close and be ready for her combo. Wait for her attack animation to finish before countering. Note that her larger attacks have brief pauses, offering opportunities for free attacks from behind.
Phase 2:
In Phase 2, which begins when Pieta’s health is about three-quarters depleted, her attacks become more potent, and she gains a new moveset with her wings. This phase requires even more caution:
- Positioning: Pay close attention to your character’s position and Pieta’s line of sight, as her attacks cover larger areas.
- Limitations: Your positioning options are limited in Phase 2 to avoid her area-of-effect (AoE) attacks. Her melee attacks have an extended range, and she introduces new ranged and AoE attacks.
- Smite Seep: Watch out for her aerial swoop attack that leaves a trail of Smite on the ground. Seek refuge on either side to avoid Smite buildup.
